Economy of Kalimantan Tengah Quarter 1 of 2019 Grows 6.03 Percent

Abstract

The quarterly economy of Kalimantan Tengah I-2019 measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp36,931.9 billion and on the basis of constant 2010 prices reached Rp24,740.4 billion.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah quarter I-2019 against the first quarter of 2018 (y-on-y) grew 6.03 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Big Trade and Retail Category, and Car and Motorcycle Repairs which grew by 10.56 percent, while the Processing Industry Category contracted. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Export Component which grew by 15.72 percent, followed by the Non-Profit Institution that Served Households (LNPRT) Component Expenditure of 11.26 percent and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) of 4.43 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2019 against quarter IV-2018 (q-to-q) grew 2.13 percent. From the production side the highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Excavation category which grew 17.33 percent, while the Construction Category; Real Estate; and the Government Administration, Defense and Social Security Must contract. While from the expenditure side the highest growth was achieved by the Export Component which grew 17.23 percent, while the Component of Government Consumption Expenditures (PKP) and PMTB experienced contraction.

The economic structure of Kalimantan in the spatial quarter I-2019 is still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province at 51.90 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province is in fourth place with a contribution of 11.61 percent.
