January 2022: Palangka Raya experiences 0.62% inflation and Sampit experiences 0.58% inflation

Abstract

In January 2022, based on two reference cities, Palangka Raya and Sampit, inflation in Kalimantan Tengah was 0.61 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.43. Of the 90 CPI cities, 85 cities experienced inflation and 5 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga at 1.53 percent with a CPI of 109.81 and the lowest in Manokwari at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 111.34. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 0.66 percent with a CPI of 108.79 and the lowest was in Jayapura at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 105.83.
  • The combined inflation for the cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit in January 2022 was due to an increase in the index for the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.95 percent), the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group (0.92 percent), the housing, water, electricity group. , and household fuel (0.67 percent), personal care and other services group (0.63 percent), education group (0.43 percent), food and beverage/restaurant provision group (0.36 percent), group transportation (0.34 percent), clothing and footwear group (0.30 percent), health group (0.07 percent) and recreation, sports and culture group (0.02 percent).
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January 2022 to December 2021) was recorded at 0.61 and the year-on-year inflation (January 2022 to January 2021) for the combined cities of Palangka Raya and Sampit was 3.86 percent.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation in January 2022 include household fuel, rice, cooking oil, broiler eggs, filtered kretek cigarettes.
  • Commodities that contributed to deflation in January 2022 include mustard greens, cassava leaves, cayenne pepper, selar fish/tude fish, and money transfer administration fees.
