July 2023: Kalimantan Tengah's combined NTP during July 2023 was 114.83, down 0.36 percent compared to June 2023

Abstract

Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

Kalimantan Tengah's combined NTP in July 2023 fell by 0.36 percent compared to June 2023, from 115.25 to 114.83. This decrease was caused by the decline in the exchange rate in several sub-sectors, namely food crops (2.63 percent), horticulture (1.36 percent), and fisheries (0.44 percent). Meanwhile, livestock and smallholder plantation crops experienced an increase in exchange rates, respectively by 0.54 percent and 0.34 percent.

In July 2023 there was a decrease in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Kalimantan Tengah by 0.16 percent due to a decrease in the price index for the food, beverage and tobacco group (0.31 percent), the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group. (0.03 percent), as well as the information, communication and financial services group (0.02 percent).

Similar to the NTP, the Kalimantan Tengah Agriculture Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in July 2023 also decreased by 0.51 percent, from 116.71 (June 2023) to 116.11 (July 2023).
