Kalimantan Tengah's Economy Quarter III-2023 Grows 3.74 Percent (Y-on-Y)

Abstract

  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy based on the size of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the second quarter of 2023 reached IDR 50.8 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 28.1 trillion.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in quarter III-2023 compared to quarter III-2022 (y-on-y) grew by 3.74 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Business Activities Field of 23.74 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Non Profit Organization Consumption Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) of 7.90 percent.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the second quarter of 2023 (q-to-q) grew by 0.43 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Construction Fields of 21.12 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) experienced the highest growth of 11.65 percent.
  • The cumulative economy of Kalimantan Tengah until the third quarter of 2023 compared to the cumulative growth of the third quarter of 2022 by 3.30 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, the Electricity and Gas Field experienced the highest growth of 10.67 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the highest growth of 7.19 percent.
  • Spatially, the economic structure of Kalimantan in the third quarter of 2023 is still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province, with 45.90 percent. Growth in quarter III-2023 (y-on-y) occurred in all provinces in the Kalimantan region, the highest being Kalimantan Province East with growth (y-on-y) of 5.29 percent. Meanwhile, Kalimantan Tengah occupies the lowest position with a contribution of 12.17 percent.
