Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached IDR 39,197 billion and on a constant 2010 basis it reached IDR 24,620.7 billion.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2021 against the first quarter of 2020 (y-on-y) contracted by 3.12 percent. From the production side, the category with the largest contraction was Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security which grew negatively by 27.62 percent. From the expenditure side, the largest contraction was driven by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P), namely -9.20 percent, followed by Gross Fixed Capital Formation of -3.80 percent and exports by -2.90 percent.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2021 against the fourth quarter of 2020 (q-to-q) contracted by 2.01 percent. From the production side, only seven categories grew positively. The largest contraction occurred in the Category of Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security amounting to 49.64 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the largest contraction was driven by the Government Consumption Expenditure component of -31.72 percent, followed by PMTB of -4.59 percent and LNPRT Consumption Expenditure of -4.14 percent.
  • In spatial terms, all provinces on the island of Kalimantan experienced contraction. The highest contraction occurred in Kalimantan Tengah at 3.12 percent. Meanwhile, the lowest contraction occurred in Kalimantan Tengah at 0.10 percent.
